The Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) ensures that candidates are competent and meet the high standards of professionalism required to become a chartered surveyor.

Assessment for APC

The formal assessment requires written submissions, recent completion of CPD training, attendance of an online RICS ethics course and a 60 minute assessment interview and a 10 minute presentation on a case study. The asseessment panel are trained RICS assessors that ask questions to assess competence.

Passing the APC and gaining Chartered Membership shows that the work completed by Alison is on par with the professional standards expected. This is recognition to be proud of.

Becoming a Chartered Surveyor

While a surveyor will have the knowledge and abilities to complete their work, they are not regulated by the authorative body as a chartered surveyor. A chartered surveyor is regulated by RICS and has completed the rigorous training required to show that they are professional and trustworthy.
